How to Connect n8n Forms to Form2Lead
Step-by-step developer instructions for n8n applications.
How do you send n8n form submissions to Form2Lead?
Connect Form2Lead to n8n by creating a Webhook Trigger node in n8n and pasting its URL into Form2Lead. Choose between Universal Standard JSON (with HMAC-SHA256 signature verification) or Flat JSON (top-level fields) to power advanced multi-step automations.
Why use Form2Lead with n8n?
n8n is the premier open-source and cloud workflow automation platform. Form2Lead integrates smoothly with n8n: stream clean submission data to trigger CRM updates, database syncs, AI agent processing, and internal communications, with built-in retries covering workflow maintenance windows.
Prerequisites
- ✔An active n8n instance (self-hosted or n8n Cloud)
- ✔A Form2Lead form with webhooks enabled
Step-by-Step Integration Guide
01. Add a Webhook Node in n8n
In your n8n workflow canvas, add a "Webhook" node. Set HTTP Method to POST and Path to your preferred route (e.g. /form-lead). Copy the Test or Production Webhook URL.
02. Add Webhook Endpoint in Form2Lead
In your Form2Lead form Setup tab, paste your n8n Webhook URL. Select "Universal Standard JSON" if you want signature headers, or "Google Sheets & Flat JSON" for direct top-level variables.
03. (Optional) Set Custom Auth Header
In n8n Webhook node settings, you can enable Header Authentication. In Form2Lead, add the matching header under "Custom HTTP Headers" (e.g. Key: "X-N8N-Key", Value: "your-secret").
04. Test & Build Your Workflow
Click "Test Webhook" in Form2Lead while listening in n8n to capture the schema, then connect database, CRM, or notification nodes.
n8n Integration FAQ
Can I verify webhook authenticity in n8n?
Yes. Form2Lead sends the x-form2lead-signature header with HMAC-SHA256 hash. You can verify it using a Crypto or Code node in n8n using your webhook signing secret.
Which payload format is best for n8n?
Flat JSON provides the easiest mapping since form inputs are top-level properties ($json.email, $json.name). Standard JSON provides the full event envelope ($json.data.payload.email). Both work seamlessly.
